I love road trips, but it’s always good to explore the places near home too. Fortunately, there are a lot of great state parks in Connecticut. Last weekend, Gabi and I visited the West Rock State Park (map) that is only a 10-minute drive from our home, just like the Sleeping Giant.
The fall colors just started popping in the southern parts of New England and the weather was perfect this weekend for nature photography. There are no grand vistas in this park, but I didn’t mind it at all. I love using telephoto lenses for landscape photography so I can isolate the intimate parts of the scene around me. These photos were taken at Lake Wintegreen, a 44 acre lake in the park.
