At this time of year I usually work with Laysan albatrosses (Phoebastria immutabilis) at Kaena Point on Oahu. The chicks normally hatch in February and give me a lot of opportunities to study their lives. Thanks to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, everybody can watch some Laysan albatross chicks and their parents on the Albatross Cam. This webcam is located on the island of Kauai where the environment is a little bit different from the dunes of Kaena Point.
This photo was taken on Oahu.
