Acadia in Black and White

It’s kind of my tradition to create a black and white landscape image when I visit a national park that Ansel Adams visited as well. He is the most influential landscape photographer and I find it fun to make (or at least try to make) Ansel Adams-like photographs. During our recent visit to Acadia National Park in Maine the weather was terrible with lots of dark clouds and rain, so it was perfect for black and white photography. I chose this image of Jordan Pond with the Bubbles in the background to convert into black and white, because the clouds were beautiful here. I used a polarizer filter to darken the sky and enhance the contrast and converted this image into black and white in Lightroom.
