Four weeks old Hawaiian Monk Seal

Last weekend Gabi and I went to the North Shore of Oahu again to watch and hopefully photograph a Hawaiian monk seal named Honey Girl and her latest pup. Altough they weren’t as active as they were a week ago, we had a good time around the pupping site. It’s so exciting to see how fast this baby monk seal grows. She is about four weeks old and almost half the size of her mommy thanks to the fat rich milk she drinks all the time when she is awake. We stayed until sunset and fortunately I could manage to take some photographs of the resting monk seals in pleasing colors.

Gear: Canon EOS 7D, Canon 300mm F/4 lens, tripod
